Shadowseek is a science demonstration tool for the general public, used to visually present the natural phenomenon of shadow length varying by place, date and time. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how this app handles data.
This app does not upload or share your personal information with the developer or any third party. You can use all features without creating an account or signing in. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or other identifying information, nor do we collect device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, etc.).
When you tap "Use current location", the app requests location permission to determine your chosen calculation place. The location result is used only on your device, for computing the Sun's position and shadow length, and is never uploaded to any server. If you save a calculation as a record, its place parameters (including coordinates) are stored locally in "My Records" on your device (see Section 4).
When you tap "Save share image", the app requests photo library add-only permission to save the generated image to your photo library. This happens only when you trigger it; the app does not read your photo library and never accesses any photo other than the one you chose to save.
All shadow calculations are performed locally on your device. This app has no server of its own and sends no data to the developer.
All data in this app is stored locally on your device; nothing is uploaded to the cloud or synced. Your saved calculation records (including place name, coordinates, object type and height, target date and time, and result summaries) are stored in local storage on your device. You can delete any record at any time in "My Records", or clear all records in one tap; deleted data cannot be recovered.

None of the above is uploaded to or shared with the developer or any third party.
This app does not integrate any third-party advertising SDK, does not collect advertising identifiers, and does not perform cross-app tracking.
In-app purchases (the one-time unlock and single-tier purchases) are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer cannot access your name, card number, billing address or any other payment information; the app only reads the entitlement status ("purchased or not") from the system to unlock the corresponding features.
Built-in place data (names, coordinates, time zones) is provided by GeoNames under CC BY 4.0. It contains only public geographic place information and involves none of your personal data.
